Spontaneity!
I like days out of school, and doing impromptu stuff.
Woke up, went to science to eat/return some books (i think i'm kinda addicted to borrowing books and reading them. it's a good habit that i've always wanted to cultivate, except i'm not really sure it's appropriate so near the exams). And then I made my way to ICA to collect my new passport (my old one had a nice wash and spin-around in the washing machine after i forgot to take it out of my berms when i came back from the US). I made an appointment to collect it at 1pm, but reached at noon, but still only had to wait like barely 5 mins before my number was called. So there. new passport, and new passport number. I don't even think i can remember my previous passport number. cos after you get a biometric passport the number isn't the ic number anymore. Not that there's really a need to remember it, but I would rather I do.
And then I helped wbp ask around for some info cos his passport photo is faded and he wanted to check if he needed to make a new passport or whether somehow he can just change the photo. turns out if he wants to change it he needs to get a new passport, like what i did, and pay $120, like what i did. and then i helped my mum ask around regarding whether an indonesian maid going to malaysia needs to apply for visa, and apparently ica only deals with singapore stuff (duh lol) and so they asked me to ask malaysia's high commissioner or sth. which i didn't, but told mum abt it.
and because it was still early (12+) and i didn't really wanna go back to sch, i decided to go national library, which was close by. somehow decided not to take the train there but to walk, since it's only one stop. but the weather was horrific and when i reached the first busstop i realised all but one bus that comes to the busstop takes me to bugis junction. and as murphy's law always works its wonders, the first bus that came was the bus that doesn't go there. anw, wanted to go to the lib also because i started on a book this morning (yikes) and thot i cld just chill in the lib to continue reading the book. so i got off at bugis junction, bought a $2 cup of matcha iced tea (which isn't very nice, and was very quickly finished, cos it was a hot day), and passed by the cinema (hohoho). so i stood outside the ticket counter, and tried to figure out what shows were showing. but the screen sorta showed the timings of only 2 movies at a time, and took a long time to switch between movies and i got kinda tired of waiting so decided to just go to the lib first and maybe somehow get access to internet to check for other movies/cinemas. kinda weird entering national lib again, cos most of the time i'm there it's got to do with scholarship stuff. went to find a nice seat, took out my fone, and started surfing. i shortlisted two movies: shutter island and how to train a dragon. Murphy's law succeeded again when i realised one of the movies (forgot which) has a 1:15 show at bugis and when i saw that it was alr 1:15. but anw looked around for more timings at other places and although i sorta wanted to watch shutter island more than dragon i decided on the latter cos it has an earlier show (2pm at ps, as compared to 3+ for shutter) and that i prob won't get to watch dragon again but shld get a higher chance of watching shutter with other pple some time in the future. and ly was also saying how good dragon was so i wanted to watch it as well.
so off i went to ps and bought ticket. couldn't go in yet, so i went to look at guitars in yamaha. OK I REALLY WANNA GET AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR BECAUSE ALMOST EVERYONE HAS ONE BUT I DON'T. haha. and i kinda decided i prob have a long way to go still with guitaring so i shall not start on violin just yet. so my next goal is to get an acoustic guitar and learn some acoustic techniques. but the acoustics at yamaha were all so pricey, like the cheaper ones are 300-400 and they've got lotsa 800-1200 kind. but not that i was going to buy one then so i was just looking around and admiring and convincing myself further that i'll get one in the near future.
got into the cinema (i agreed to get some seat at the centre and regretted after getting the ticket cos i would have rather sat at the side) and found myself in between two couples, which was kinda awkward. the movie was good. funny, kinda exciting, sometimes touching. the kinda that made me feel my time and money was well spent (student price! $6.50 only!), but not really the kind that i would wanna watch again.
after that i decided to make my way back to sch (cos was feeling kinda guilty for doing spontaneous stuff and well, the exams are approaching. bought takopachi balls at the basement of ps, finished them quite quickly and took train/bus back to central lib. decided i had to stop procrastinating and starting photocopying all my readings for ss. and it was a lot to photocopy! had to get books from RBR, main CL books shelves, singapore-malaysia collection andHSSMLib (cos i realised another copy could be found in RBR). after like 2-3 hours(? i really dunno. i lost track of time. as in i couldn't really rmb when i stepped into the lib, but i left at around 7:30) and abt $7 off my cashcard i went back to pgp with my bag full of notes and ANOTHER BOOK WHICH I BORROWED. but it's not a storybook kinda book it's this documentation of the resignation of devannair and his alcohol problems. thought it was really interesting cos it contained stuff like letters from his doctors, letters from indonesia where he was drinking too much and behaving inappropriately.
went back to pgp, bought dinner and when i reached my block there was a huge crowd and i suddenly rmb-ed there was end-of-sem dinner -.- but then again there wasn't really much food left when i got there. listened to ec crappeda bit a lot and then i suggested that pple shouldn't get near him near exam time cos their IQ will drop lol! went back to my room, ate my dinner and here i am.
realised i haven't blogged about Goo! but it's all on fb anw. wanna transfer him to a new home again! not a cup anymore but the plastic container to ta-pao rice. much bigger. and i really hope i'm not being cruel to keep the snail. it seems to like my tomatoes quite a lot! and the tomatoes are making its shit all reddish as well lol. oh yeah and the not-so-good thing about keeping goo and publicising it is that pple keep asking me about goo when they talk to me. oh well.
ok bye! and i can't wait for jaychou concert. but there's like exams and internship in between. argh. END OF YEAR 2 ALR! OMG.
